Athletes In Action – The Lum Family Update
Thank you to everybody who prayed for our team and me in Toronto during our World Cup outreach project! Below I will share some highlights:
Benjamin is a man I met during the Iraq vs Senegal game. He grew up as an altar boy in the Catholic Church, and as he grew up, he drifted away from any sort of faith foundation. I gave him a Bible and told him about Jesus. He was visibly emotional as he said he hadn’t heard about Jesus for many years. Pray for Benjamin!
Alex is an indigenous man whom my colleague and I met at the FIFA Fan Fest. He was giving away free items to support his local nation that he was a part of, and because of that, I thought he would be a great person to talk to. We had a great conversation in which I got to share the gospel with him, give him our wristband that details the gospel, and hear how the gospel was first share to him last year, but he hadn’t given it much thought since then. Pray for Alex!
We saw a few people get saved, including a man who brought five snakes to the church!
It was a joy to be with many co-workers as we spent each morning in training and God’s Word. …
Some ways you can pray for us:
*MPD (support raising) Pray for the Lord to provide the remaining money to get to 100% of our support by the end of this year, …
*Continued Trust – There are always uncertainties in life, but we follow the one who knows all and is always working for our good. Pray for trust in all areas. In parenting, in our marriage, and in ministry.
*For our growing Student Athlete Leadership Team – We now have three people in our leadership team for next year, and I couldn’t be more excited. I hope we can add one more person so that we can have an established team starting in September.
*For our family – Pray for Rebecca and the kids. Rebecca is involved in quite a few things this summer, and our kids will be attending different camps for the first time. Pray that we would have some genuine times together to rest and have fun.
